The work and my role
Leading a ten-person team meant my work included how we moved between literature, parameter choices, protocols, and results. I built the shared workflow so those pieces could be considered together. The research still depended on the team carrying out and interpreting the experiments.
The project received CURC Highest Honors in 2025. The public project companion preserves project context and the interactive research interface; it should not be treated as a complete raw-data release.

Where AI helped
We used AI to explore possible parameters and organize literature for discussion. Its suggestions were inputs to the team’s decisions, not experimental results.
The bench measurements remained the evidence about expression. A recommendation still had to be tested through the protocol, controls, and interpretation of the measured output.

What I took from it
The project made the handoff between suggestion and experiment important to me. I wanted the next decision to retain the evidence and reasoning behind the last one.
That concern carries into my later memory and evaluation work. A useful research tool should help the next person understand why a choice was made and whether it has been tested. For a team using AI in experimental work, I think that continuity deserves as much attention as how many new suggestions the model can generate.
